Darjeeling Turzum Panned and Steamed Green Tea 2025

SKU: T/EX48/PANNED & STEAMED GREEN TEA/25

Plucked from select high-elevation bushes, this innovative green tea from Turzum combines two distinct techniques: gentle steaming to retain verdant freshness and pan-firing to add depth. The dry leaves are wiry and green with silvery buds, producing a clear jade liquor. On the palate, it opens with vegetal crispness, layered with sweet floral undertones, a soft umami edge, and a lingering nutty warmth—an unusual and balanced Darjeeling interpretation of green tea craft.

tasting note

Hand-rolled whole leaves with a wiry appearance show an olive-green colour accented by silver tips. Once infused, the leaves turn bright green with a distinct nose of boiled beans and seaweed. The liquor is pale greenish, clean and light-bodied, marked by prominent notes of boiled French beans and seaweed, delivering a refreshing umami character with a smooth, lingering finish
