ABOUT THE GARDEN
Today, it forms part of the combined Sungma–Turzum Tea Estate, created after a devastating 1934 earthquake destroyed the Sungma factory, leading to the consolidation of both gardens into a single production unit.
Situated at elevations ranging roughly from 1100 to 1700 meters, the estate benefits from a cool, misty Himalayan climate, rich rainfall, and fertile soil—conditions ideal for producing high-quality Darjeeling teas with distinctive aroma and flavor.
Managed by the Jayshree Tea & Industries group, Turzum is known for its premium organic black, green, oolong, and specialty clonal teas, consistently appreciated by tea connoisseurs worldwide.
The garden combines heritage, altitude, and terroir, resulting in teas that are bright, aromatic, and characteristically elegant—true to the finest traditions of Darjeeling.

tasting note
Leaf
The dry leaf is long, elegant, and beautifully fashioned, carrying a greenish-bright appearance that immediately reflects the freshness of a fine spring pluck. Chunky silvery tips are generously scattered through the leaf, lending it a refined ornamental quality and signalling the tenderness of the AV2 cultivar. The hand-sorted make gives the leaf a clean, graceful finish, with a visual character that is both delicate and premium.
Liquor
The cup opens to a light lemonish liquor, bright, clear, and luminous. On the palate, it reveals a charming floral expression—soft, fragrant, and beautifully poised. The flavour is delicate yet distinct, with a fresh spring-like lift that gently unfolds across the cup. Its mouthfeel is smooth, elegant, and lingering, leaving behind a refined floral trail that stays pleasantly on the palate.
Infusion
The infused leaf is greenish-bright and even, showing careful manufacture and a clean first flush character. It releases a delicate floral note, tender and graceful, echoing the fresh bloom of the season. The infusion confirms the tea’s refined AV2 profile, with a soft aromatic finish that mirrors the elegance of Turzum’s spring harvest.
