Darjelling Turzum Basant Moonlight Black Tea 2026

SKU: T/Basant Blossom Moonligt/Ex11/26

Crafted at Turzum Tea Estate under the supervision of Master Planter Mr. Abhishek Dev, EX-11 Basant Moonlight is a refined First Flush Darjeeling tea made from the prized AV2 cultivar. Plucked on 26.03.2026 and produced on 27.03.2026, the tea underwent a careful 14-hour wither at 62%, followed by minimal fermentation of 10 minutes including rolling. It was dried at 240°F for 20 minutes and hand sorted to retain its delicate seasonal character.

The dry leaf is long, loosely rolled, and greenish in appearance, highlighted by chunky silvery tips. The cup reveals a light lemonish liquor with excellent brightness, carrying a beautiful floral flavour that reflects the elegance of Turzum’s spring harvest. The infusion is greenish-bright and even, with a soft, delicate floral note that completes its graceful First Flush profile.

ABOUT THE GARDEN

Today, it forms part of the combined Sungma–Turzum Tea Estate, created after a devastating 1934 earthquake destroyed the Sungma factory, leading to the consolidation of both gardens into a single production unit.
Situated at elevations ranging roughly from 1100 to 1700 meters, the estate benefits from a cool, misty Himalayan climate, rich rainfall, and fertile soil—conditions ideal for producing high-quality Darjeeling teas with distinctive aroma and flavor.
Managed by the Jayshree Tea & Industries group, Turzum is known for its premium organic black, green, oolong, and specialty clonal teas, consistently appreciated by tea connoisseurs worldwide.
The garden combines heritage, altitude, and terroir, resulting in teas that are bright, aromatic, and characteristically elegant—true to the finest traditions of Darjeeling.
