BREWING INSTRUCTIONS
Crafted at Meleng Tea Estate from the distinguished P-126 clonal cultivar, this finely made FTGFOP1 Clonal Special is an elegant expression of Assam orthodox tea-making, combining careful plucking with measured, unhurried manufacture.
Harvested on 21 August 2026 and manufactured the following day, the tender leaf underwent a 16-hour wither to 57%, allowing the natural character of the cultivar to develop gradually. A carefully controlled three-hour oxidation encouraged depth, colour and aromatic complexity before the tea was dried over 24 minutes. The finished leaf was subsequently well sorted using a dimple tray, lending the lot a clean, refined and uniform appearance.
Meleng OR 1303 FTGFOP1 Clonal Special is a refined Assam orthodox tea crafted from the distinguished P-126 cultivar. Its beautifully twisted, tip-rich leaves produce a bright copper-amber liquor with mellow malty depth, gentle honeyed sweetness and subtle fruity-woody nuances, finishing smooth, balanced and pleasantly lingering.

The dream of one pioneer and entrepreneur Mr. J.E.Todd to become a planter/owner conceptualized in the year 1856 in the form of Meleng T.E. The site of Meleng was selected amidst the world heritage site of gibbon forest on the bank of river meleng, thus, the name meleng came for the plantation.
The Estate is one of the oldest Tea Plantation of Assam with variety of clonal material and seed jat, which make it’s tea exotic / full of quality. Some of the best orthodox clones like P-126’s origin can be traced back to Meleng T.E. which can still boast of monumental plantation area of 20 Hact. which is 110 yrs old and still thriving.

Use filtered or bottled water. Bring the water to a rolling boil. Put in 2.5–3 g of loose tea for every cup. Let it steep for 3–5 min. Strain into a cup and serve
Leaf: An elegant, well-crafted orthodox leaf with a striking interplay of deep ebony, charcoal and warm mahogany tones, generously interspersed with golden-brown tips. The leaf is attractively twisted, clean and well sorted, presenting a refined visual character with good bloom and definition.
Liquor: A luminous copper-amber liquor with exceptional clarity and a polished, inviting appearance. The cup is rounded and expressive, opening with mellow malty depth and gentle honeyed sweetness, followed by subtle dried-fruit and warm woody nuances. A measured briskness lends structure, while the finish remains smooth, clean and pleasantly lingering.
Infusion: A bright and attractive coppery-bronze infusion with warm chestnut undertones. The opened leaves appear reasonably even and well developed, reflecting careful manufacture and controlled oxidation. The infused leaf carries a rich, warm aromatic impression, suggestive of malt, soft fruit and delicate woody sweetness.
