Fine plucking – two leaves and a bud, consisting of tender early spring shoots, ensuring delicacy, freshness, and refined flavour in the cup.
Today, it forms part of the combined Sungma–Turzum Tea Estate, created after a devastating 1934 earthquake destroyed the Sungma factory, leading to the consolidation of both gardens into a single production unit.
Situated at elevations ranging roughly from 1100 to 1700 meters, the estate benefits from a cool, misty Himalayan climate, rich rainfall, and fertile soil—conditions ideal for producing high-quality Darjeeling teas with distinctive aroma and flavor.
Managed by the Jayshree Tea & Industries group, Turzum is known for its premium organic black, green, oolong, and specialty clonal teas, consistently appreciated by tea connoisseurs worldwide.
The garden combines heritage, altitude, and terroir, resulting in teas that are bright, aromatic, and characteristically elegant—true to the finest traditions of Darjeeling.

Leaf Appearance:The dry leaf is wiry and elegantly twisted, displaying shades of soft jade, moss green, and silvery tips. The uniformity and fineness of the leaf indicate precise plucking and meticulous handling.
Infusion:The infusion yields a tender green hue. Exceptionally clear and bright, it reflects the freshness of the early harvest.
Liquor- The cup opens with a gentle vegetal sweetness—fresh greens, and steamed edamame—layered with subtle floral high notes reminiscent of wild Himalayan blooms. A soft freshness emerges mid-palate, accompanied by a faint umami depth typical of well-crafted China bush greens. The finish is clean, smooth, and slightly sweet and no astringency, making it both refreshing and refined.
