BREWING INTRUCTIONS

SKU: T/EX11/MYSTIC/25
Plucked in the early days of Darjeeling’s spring harvest, Turzum Mystic is a first flush black tea made from finely sorted Chinary leaves. The leaf is greenish with ample tips, fairly rolled, and delicately handled to preserve its natural essence. The liquor is light, bright, and smooth—lingering gently on the palate. The infusion is greenish bright with a pronounced fruity-floral nose, offering a refined, almost ethereal expression of Turzum’s high-elevation terroir.

Manual
Nestled amidst the enchanting Mirik valley, Sungma and Turzum stands out as one of Darjeeling's most picturesque tea estates. Situated in the Rung Bong valley, renowned for its exclusive quality tea, the estate boasts cool, misty climates with temperatures ranging from 3 degrees in winter to 28 degrees in summer, accompanied by an annual rainfall of 2500 to 3000 mm during July to September. Located approximately 30 kilometres from Darjeeling town, the estate enjoys excellent road connectivity. Established between 1863 and 1868 by British planters, Sungma and Turzum initially began with excellent quality chinary seed stock. Following a massive earthquake in 1934 that devastated the Sungma tea factory, both estates merged, with all manufacturing operations shifting to Turzum. Acquired by Jayshree Tea in 1993, the estate witnessed significant investments in tea cultivation, successful replanting initiatives, employee welfare, and tea manufacturing infrastructure. These efforts culminated in remarkable achievements in quality improvement, resulting in increased unit prices for its teas. Notably, the estate holds Fair Trade certification and has been awarded ISO 1901:2008 and HACCP certifications by TUV NORD, highlighting its commitment to excellence and sustainability.
