Darjeeling Turzum Enigma Imperial Reserve First Flush 2026

SKU: T/Enigma/Ex07/26

Turzum EX-07 “Enigma” is a high-elevation P312 clonal tea from 4600–5000 ft, crafted under the guidance of Master Planter Mr. Abhishek Dev. Plucked on 25 March 2026 and produced the following day, the leaf undergoes a controlled 62% wither and a brief 10-minute fermentation (including rolling), followed by drying at 240°F for 20 minutes and careful hand sorting.

The dry leaf appears greenish bright with chunky tips, reflecting fine plucking and minimal oxidation. The infusion is even and greenish bright, releasing a delicate floral note. In the cup, it yields a light lemonish liquor with excellent brightness, carrying a beautiful fruity flavour layered with soft floral nuances. Elegant, fresh, and precise, this tea captures the refined character of early-season Turzum clonal manufacture.

ABOUT THE GARDEN

Nestled in the scenic Rungbong Valley of Darjeeling, Turzum Tea Estate is a historic garden dating back to the 1860s, originally established by British planters.

Today, it forms part of the combined Sungma–Turzum Tea Estate, created after a devastating 1934 earthquake destroyed the Sungma factory, leading to the consolidation of both gardens into a single production unit.

Situated at elevations ranging roughly from 1100 to 1700 meters, the estate benefits from a cool, misty Himalayan climate, rich rainfall, and fertile soil—conditions ideal for producing high-quality Darjeeling teas with distinctive aroma and flavor.

Managed by the Jayshree Tea & Industries group, Turzum is known for its premium organic black, green, oolong, and specialty clonal teas, consistently appreciated by tea connoisseurs worldwide.

The garden combines heritage, altitude, and terroir, resulting in teas that are bright, aromatic, and characteristically elegant—true to the finest traditions of Darjeeling.
