ABOUT THE GARDEN
SKU: T/EX44/ TIPPY MOONDROP/ 26
Crafted from the esteemed P312 clonal cultivar, Turzum EX-44 Tippy Moon Drop is a refined expression of Darjeeling tea artistry, distinguished by its abundance of silvery tips, graceful character, and remarkable smoothness. This exclusive lot embodies the precision and expertise for which Turzum Tea Estate is renowned.
Plucked on 6th June 2026 and expertly manufactured on 7th June 2026 under the guidance of Tea Master Mr. Abhishek Deb, the leaf underwent a carefully orchestrated production process. A prolonged 16-hour withering, reducing moisture content by 58%, encouraged the development of nuanced aromatic compounds while preserving the cultivar's intrinsic elegance. Controlled oxidation for 2 hours and 30 minutes allowed the characteristic P312 clonal profile to fully emerge, while drying at 240°F for 24 minutes ensured clarity, finesse, and balance in the final cup. The tea was subsequently hand-sorted, preserving only the finest leaves and tips.
Turzum EX-44 Tippy Moon Drop is a finely crafted P312 clonal tea adorned with abundant silvery tips. The cup is delicate, mellow, and exceptionally smooth, offering an elegant expression of the cultivar's signature flavour with refined sweetness and lasting sophistication.

Meticulously hand-plucked, selecting only the finest tender shoots comprising two leaves and a bud, ensuring exceptional leaf integrity and a refined expression of the cultivar's distinctive clonal character.
Today, it forms part of the combined Sungma–Turzum Tea Estate, created after a devastating 1934 earthquake destroyed the Sungma factory, leading to the consolidation of both gardens into a single production unit.
Situated at elevations ranging roughly from 1100 to 1700 meters, the estate benefits from a cool, misty Himalayan climate, rich rainfall, and fertile soil—conditions ideal for producing high-quality Darjeeling teas with distinctive aroma and flavor.
Managed by the Jayshree Tea & Industries group, Turzum is known for its premium organic black, green, oolong, and specialty clonal teas, consistently appreciated by tea connoisseurs worldwide.
The garden combines heritage, altitude, and terroir, resulting in teas that are bright, aromatic, and characteristically elegant—true to the finest traditions of Darjeeling.
