Crafted from the prized AV2 cultivar of Turzum Tea Estate, EX-09 Basant Blossom is a delicate first flush Darjeeling tea that reflects the freshness and floral elegance of the spring harvest. The leaves were carefully plucked on 26th March 2026 and produced the following day under precise artisanal supervision, with 62% withering over 14 hours, minimal fermentation of 10 minutes including rolling, and careful drying at 240°F for 20 minutes. The tea was hand sorted to preserve its refined character and visual appeal.
The dry leaf is long, greenish-bright, and beautifully finished with chunky silvery tips. In the cup, it produces a light lemonish liquor with excellent brightness. The flavour is distinctly floral, graceful, and fresh, with a lingering mouthfeel that carries the delicate charm of Turzum’s spring bloom. The infused leaf appears greenish-bright and even, releasing a subtle floral note that confirms the tea’s elegant first flush profile.

Fine selective plucking of AV2 cultivar leaves, carried out on 26.03.2026 to capture the tender spring character of Turzum’s first flush.
Today, it forms part of the combined Sungma–Turzum Tea Estate, created after a devastating 1934 earthquake destroyed the Sungma factory, leading to the consolidation of both gardens into a single production unit.
Situated at elevations ranging roughly from 1100 to 1700 meters, the estate benefits from a cool, misty Himalayan climate, rich rainfall, and fertile soil—conditions ideal for producing high-quality Darjeeling teas with distinctive aroma and flavor.
Managed by the Jayshree Tea & Industries group, Turzum is known for its premium organic black, green, oolong, and specialty clonal teas, consistently appreciated by tea connoisseurs worldwide.
The garden combines heritage, altitude, and terroir, resulting in teas that are bright, aromatic, and characteristically elegant—true to the finest traditions of Darjeeling.

Mid-Morning (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM) – Great Option
Use filtered or bottled water.
Heat the water to 95°C.
Put in 2.5 g of loose tea for every cup (180 ml).
Let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
Strain into a cup and serve.
Leaf-The dry leaf presents a beautifully elongated, well-made appearance, greenish-bright in colour and generously adorned with chunky silvery tips. Its visual character reflects careful hand sorting and fine manufacture, suggesting a tender AV2 spring pluck with an elegant first flush identity.
Liquor-The liquor opens to a light lemonish hue, bright and luminous in the cup. On the palate, it carries a graceful floral flavour with a fresh, garden-like delicacy, unfolding softly yet distinctly. The cup is refined and expressive, leaving behind a lingering mouthfeel that is smooth, fragrant, and quietly memorable.
Infusion- The infused leaf is greenish-bright and even, revealing the tea’s freshness and clean manufacture. It releases a delicate floral note, soft and refined, echoing the spring bloom character of Turzum and confirming the elegance of this AV2 first flush invoice.
