ABOUT THE GARDEN
The Balasun Tea Estate stands as a testament to the rich history and dedication to quality that defines Darjeeling tea. Nestled amidst picturesque landscapes near Sonada, this estate boasts an ideal combination of altitude, climate, and natural beauty that contributes to its renowned tea production. Established in 1871 by M/s Davenport & Company Ltd., the plantation initially carried the name Nahore Balasun, derived from the Lepcha dialect. Through significant investments in infrastructure, technology, and employee welfare, the management has propelled Balasun Tea Estate to new heights of excellence. tasting note
Leaf - An exquisitely delicate and expressive cup that opens with a lifted bouquet of fresh white blossoms, rose petals, and subtle orange flower. The first sip reveals a gentle, nectar-like sweetness reminiscent of acacia honey, seamlessly unfolding into soft stone fruit notes of ripe peach and hints of clementine.
Liquor-As the liquor develops, a fine layer of fresh vegetal nuances—suggestive of tender spring greens and a touch of cucumber skin—adds depth and structure without disturbing its elegance. The AV2 cultivar brings a pronounced aromatic clarity and floral lift, while the Balasun terroir imparts a rounded smoothness to the cup.
Infusion - The finish is long, clean, and soothing, with a lingering impression of floral sweetness and a refreshing, almost dewy softness—true to its “Morning Dew” character.
